The Update

Wow… Looks like I skipped 2012 altogether ;-) Well it was a great year! I made several recordings with Duke including a great new Blues CD “Low Down and Tore Up” on Stony Plain as well as the excellent Sunny Crownover CD “Right Here Right Now” amongst others for Duke’s new label Shining Stone.

I also played and toured with Duke and with Toni Lynn Washington (highlights being The Tampa Bay Blues Festival w/ Toni, The Beale St. Music Festival, Edmonton Blues Festival, Illinois Blues Festival, Bay-Car Blues Festival in France and Rio Das Ostras Jazz Festival in Brazil w/ Duke)

My trio, threadbear fynn, continued our Sunday residency at The Beehive in Boston. We played with some of our favorite roots, jazz, and blues musicians at The Beehive and The Bailey in Marshfield, including Toni Lynn Washington, Dennis Brennan, Steve Guyger, Tim Gearan, Lisa Mills, Darrell Nulisch, Danielle Miraglia, Wali Ali, Sugar Ray Norcia, Brian Templeton, Rebecca Muir, Cheryl Arena, Tim Pike, Craig Rawding, Ed Scheer, Evan Goodrow , Mike Williams and many more!

2013 looks great too! Dates in Europe w Duke, dates w Toni and a quick eastern tour w Curtis Salgado coming up! Lots of news on the Duke front, including a new CD “Independently Blue” coming out in April as well as CDs w Canadian singer Robin Banks and Brazilian bluesman Nuno Mindelis… check out his link!

In family news, Isabelle is loving her music and singing. She will be singing with the Massachusetts Jr. District Chorus and has been playing the clarinet and contrabass clarinet (quite a sound!) in her high school band. Zac is doing well at the Commonwealth Honors College at UMass Amherst, serving as an Assistant Editor at the Mass. Daily Collegian, a co-editor at the Mass. Political Review, and working at Honors College. He is loving his studies as well!
